ZADR is the romantic pairing between Zim and Dib. Zim and Dib are shown to have a deep obsession with one another, Considered by some to be one of the most problematic ships, it has inspired a number of fanclubs. It is the most popular ship in the fandom, even more so than ZaGR (Zim and Gaz Romance), as shown by the huge amount of fans, fanfics, fanart, and comics.

In The Nightmare Begins (Part Two), Dib attempts to lock Zim in handcuffs. Zim compliments the cuffs as "pretty".
In the cancelled episode, "Mopiness of Doom", Zim lost all interest in his life's work and slipped into a deep drepression because Dib was no longer paying any attention to him.

In Issue #1, after the disappearance of Zim, Dib watched his monitors obsessively, waiting for the day Zim would return.

Much like in Issue #1, Dib watched his monitors obsessively for Zim. However, there is also a later scene where Dib connects with Zim on the basis that neither Zim's leaders nor Professor Membrane respect either of them.

Artistically, the style in which it is represented varies widely. While some artists try to reproduce a style close to the original artist, Jhonen Vasquez, others attempt a more personal style, often influenced by the western comic style, or animesque style. Although, such is often seen in most of the other ships, ZaDR is incredibly popular, to the point of spawning its own tropes and clichés.
